Where are you located?

We are based in Dallas-Fort Worth and also have teams of officiants in Houston, Oklahoma City, and Kansas City with plans underway to expand to other major cities across the nation. Although we primarily officiate weddings in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Oklahoma City, and Kansas City metropolitan areas, we are easily able to travel and legally perform ceremonies anywhere inside and outside of the United States.

Aren't all ministers the same?

No two people are alike which means every minister is different. Some are incredibly gifted at officiating weddings while others aren’t. We have set the bar very high for our team. Each minister is hand selected by our Founder and President based on several factors we believe are important to have when officiating a wedding. From their personality, to the way they talk, to how they’re gifted, to their sense of fashion and the way they look, to their experience — the quality of our ministers speaks for itself. We won’t settle for anything less than the best ministers because we believe you deserve the best!

How important is the officiant?

Next to the bride and groom the minister is the most important person at the wedding. Think about it...98% of what is said at the ceremony comes from their mouth. They set the vibe of your big day and they will forever be etched in your wedding story — good or bad. This is the one decision you can’t afford to cut corners on!

Why hire a professional wedding officiant?

You can hire either an amateur or a professional florist, coordinator, photographer, caterer, etc. for your wedding. The same is true for wedding officiants — there are amateurs and there are professionals. While “officiant” is a general term describing any person who is legally able to sign a marriage license, a professional wedding officiant is someone who has extensive knowledge, training, and experience when it comes to officiating weddings. We believe the ceremony is the main event of your wedding day and should be handled by a professional, not put in the hands of an amateur.

How much is this going to cost?

In the big picture of a wedding budget our fee is a drop in the bucket. For some it’s a lot less than you think, for others it may be a little more. A quick Google search will show how vastly the cost of a wedding officiant varies — from free to well over $1000. Why? As it is with most things in life you get what you pay for. When you choose a minister from HIREAMINISTER.com you are choosing the best. Please visit our PRICING page to see our fees and to fill out a Ceremony Request Form to tell us more about your big day.

What all goes into preparing a ceremony?

Regardless of the size of your wedding there are countless hours that go into making the ceremony perfect. Each one requires hours of planning, writing, assembling, updating, preparing and rehearsing. There are also several consultations that happen between you and the minister, additional conversations via phone and email, travel time, the wedding rehearsal, the wedding itself, and filling out and filing the marriage license. A lot of hours go into crafting your ceremony to ensure it is exactly what you dream it will be. And we love doing it!

Do I get to choose my officiant?

Absolutely! You can choose from any of the ministers on our team based on your personal tastes and preferences. If you need help selecting an officiant just let us know. There is no guarantee that your first choice will be available. If that is the case, rest assured you will be in excellent hands with anyone on our team!

Can I meet an officiant before making a decision?

We know who you choose to officiate your wedding is a very important decision. Our ministers are more than happy to meet with you by FaceTime, Zoom, or phone before you make a decision on whether or not they will be the right fit for you. Our ministers are located throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth and Kansas City metropolitan areas which encompasses many square miles. We therefore choose to leverage technology to "meet" with couples who would like to talk with one or more of our ministers before officially hiring them.

What if my officiant has an emergency the day of my wedding?

This is highly unlikely but not impossible. If your minister is unable to officiate your ceremony due to an unforeseen emergency we will immediately have one of our ministers step in without missing a beat. That is one of the advantages of having a team of hand selected, professionally trained ministers on our team. Your ceremony will still be perfect.

What will my officiant wear?

Our ministers have a great taste for fashion and are up-to-date with the latest trends. You will never see one of our ministers wearing an outdated suit that doesn’t fit. Rest assured they will look beyond sharp. With that said, your minister will wear what you want them to wear — it’s part of how we customize the ceremony to you. It’s always a fun conversation to have!

What will my officiant do at the rehearsal if asked to attend?

It’s important to understand we are not Wedding Planners or Coordinators. As such, our role as officiants at the rehearsal is to simply walk the bride and groom (plus any other participants with a key role) through the major moving pieces of the ceremony script starting with the “Giving Away of the Bride” and ending with the “Introduction of the Couple.” We do not assist in the placement of the wedding party (bridesmaids, groomsmen, etc.), Processional/Recessional, or other parts of the wedding.
